Free Outdoor Yoga in Des Moines 2023
Yoga. As a parent, we need a little “me” time. Yoga is the perfect way to relax, meditate, stretch, meet other people, and have fun. We are very lucky to have so many opportunities to enjoy some free yoga classes or low-cost, outdoor yoga spots in Des Moines. Whether you are a curious beginner or an advanced yogi there is something for everyone!
I have collected an awesome list of places and dates where you can enjoy outdoor classes this summer in the Des Moines area. Grab your water bottle, and a yoga mat, and enjoy these outdoor yoga classes being offered in the Des Moines metro this summer.
Yoga in the Park – Ankeny
Bring a yoga mat and a friend to enjoy an hour of yoga with professional instructors. Yoga in the Park will be held at the Ankeny Bandshell in Wagner Park on Saturday mornings, May 27 through Sept. 2, from 8 – 9 a.m. Families, of all ages and skill levels, are welcome at this free community event.
Outdoor Yoga Summer Series – Clive
All Ages. All Levels. Free.
Join Clive Parks & Recreation on the Greenbelt Landing near the Clive Aquatic Center for 45 minutes of yoga under the sky. Yoga is beneficial both mentally and physically. Bring your towel, mat, and water bottle, and enjoy outdoor yoga.

Yoga on the Square – Polk City
FREE yoga on the square every Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m. Yoga begins June 3 – August 6.
Yoga in the Park – Waukee
Join local, certified yoga instructors from SPENGA-Waukee for Yoga in the Park this summer! Participants 8 years old and up are encouraged to bring a yoga mat or towel, water bottle, and $ 2 per person to Windfield Park on the second and fourth Saturdays of June-September. Classes are from 8 to 9 a.m.
Yoga on the Lawn – West Des Moines
Get your Sunday off to a great start with some Yoga on the Lawn! This FREE program put on by West Des Moines Parks & Recreation Department is a great introduction to yoga for the beginner and offers new challenges for seasoned yogis. Bring a water bottle and yoga mat and enjoy. Open to all.
