The weather is warming up and there are several chances to enjoy outdoor storytime in Des Moines this summer. Bring a blanket, grab lunch, and enjoy storytime outdoors. All of these dates and times are also listed on our event calendar.

FAIRYTALE TIME IN THE PARK

Come experience your neighborhood park and join the West Des Moines Parks and Recreation staff for a story and a craft. Bring a blanket and a friend! All ages. FREE.

STORIES AT THE PARK

Friday’s from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Clive Parks & Recreation is going to various parks this summer! Enjoy this 30-minute program with your little one. This is bonding time for you and your child. Early literacy skills are modeled with the use of books, songs, rhymes, finger-plays, and dancing. For more information, contact Dee at dshalondeur@cityofclive.com.

STORYTIME IN THE PARK

Monday’s from 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Raccoon River Park

Come enjoy a nature story or two and a kid-friendly craft. We will find some shade near or in the Biddle Shelter at Raccoon River Park. Bring a blanket, and dress for the weather.

WATER TALES

June 29 & 23; July 7 & 21

9:30 to 11 a.m.

Clive Aquatic Center

The library and the aquatic center have teamed up to bring you cool summer fun! If you are only staying for the story (9:30 − 10:00 a.m.) the cost is free. If you plan on staying to swim until 11:00 a.m., the cost is $5 per person, and children 2 and under are free. Ages 5 and younger with caregiver (16 or older). Registration recommended.
