Uptown Dairy hosts a breakfast on the 1st Saturday of each month. Indulge yourself with Homemade Belgian Waffles, Affogatos (ice cream + espresso), Full Coffee & Espresso Bar and more. This month is extra special because they are also opening up as a full coffee shop. Adulting is hard but remember as an adult you get to decide if you have dessert for breakfast!

Join Des Moines Parks & Recreation at Snow Ball. Bring your child for dancing, photos, art projects, science exhibits and a chocolate fondue station! Each child will receive a carnation flower. Dress in your best and make memories together.
Harlem Globetrotters

Come cheer on the Harlem Globetrotters as they dazzle you with their basketball skills, athleticism, and hilarious antics! Purchase a Magic Pass and get a chance to join the Globetrotters as well as their opponent, the Washington Generals, on the court before the game. You could also purchase a Celebrity Court Pass and get to do a meet and greet with the Globetrotters as well as see how the show comes together behind the scenes.

February is a great time to check out an Iowa Wild hockey game! Each game is action packed with fast paced skaters, impressive skills and the electric energy of the crowd. There is a drink or food deal at most games and even a concert featuring a local artist.
Chinese New Year

Celebrate the Chinese New Year at the Jester Park Nature Center. This is the year of the fire horse. During this program you will learn all about the history of the Chinese New Year, similarities between Chinese zodiac and western astrology.. Shadow Fist Kung Fu will be back again for a live lion dance and kung fu demonstration.

Meander through the seven feature gardens for landscaping inspirations, shop at the Made in Iowa Market, learn from local professionals on a variety of home and garden topics, or just enjoy a break from winter. The Rose Farm Inspiration Stage will host celebrity guests and DIY experts. Craig Conover from Southern Charm will speak about his company Sewing Down South on Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 12:00 PM. Rose Farm is bringing the farm to the show with presentations on Farm to Table Dinners, Sourdough Pizza Making, Farm School for Kids and All Things Floral. On Sunday, there will be a children’s entrepreneur market from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.

Des Moines Parent Summer Camp Fair

Our Des Moines Parent Summer Camp Fair is back and at a new location! This year the event will take place at Paws and Pints. Wellmark YMCA Red Flannel Run

Dress up in your red flannel attire and get ready to run! Red Flannel Run is Wellmark’s YMCA’s biggest fundraiser and all proceeds go towards making the YMCA facilities and programming accessible to all. The run started 37 years ago with two single guys that didn’t have dates for Valentine’s Day. Now, it is seen as the unofficial kickoff to the outdoor race season. Keep up your new year’s resolution and try the 5K or 10K option.
