Farmer’s Markets in Des Moines

Our family loves to attend local Farmer’s Markets in Des Moines. It is a great way to support local businesses, and purchase local produce, and other fun, handmade items. Many of the Des Moines area farmers’ markets offer much more than fresh produce. Many offer live entertainment and live music put on by local musicians. You can find specialty food items, handmade goods, perennial plants, local artisans, food trucks, local artists, fresh-cut flowers, Here is a list of local Farmer’s Markets that happen all season long around Des Moines. Beaverdale Farmers Market

  • One of our favorite vendors Pie Bird Pies is usually there! Definitely check them out.

Capitol Complex Farmers Market

Colfax Farmers’ Market

Valley Junction Farmers Market

  • Historic Valley Junction; 100, 200 & (sometimes) 300 blocks of 5th Street, West Des Moines

Saturday morning is a popular day to visit some of the best farmers markets. Plan your season and see how many local vendors you can visit this year!

Downtown Farmers’ Market

Grimes Farmers Market

  • Grimes Heritage Park
  • 7 to 11 a.m.

Heart of Des Moines Farmers Markets

  • 6th & Washington Avenue

Indianola

LSI Global Greens Farmers Market

  • LSI Refugee Connection Center parking lot, 3200 University Avenue in Des Moines
  • Global greens – Immigrant and Refugee Community Services
  • This program reconnects former refugee farmers with the land as they build their new life in the U.S. Through Global Greens, farmers access space to grow food, learn more about U.S. agriculture, and start their own business by selling produce at this Farmers’ Market and our CSA.

Uptown Ankeny Farmer’s Market
