Doanes Park in Pleasant Hill, Iowa

Doanes Park in Pleasant Hill has many different inviting areas to play. As you enter the park to the left near the pickleball courts, there is a new sprayground near a giant unique climbing globe. My kids loved climbing in this and challenging themselves to climb in different ways. They also loved that there were two different nest saucer swings next to each other.

As you keep driving into the park, on the right side is a shaded traditional 2-5-year-old and 5-12-year-old playground. This playground feels like a secluded treasure with all of the trees around. My monkey bar-loving child loved all of the places she could show off all her skills here. We also love the short nature trail loop near these playgrounds. It’s a perfect quick nature escape while still in the city.

Splash Pad

The new splash pad has sprayers, sprinklers, nozzles, and a spraying globe. My kids especially loved the spray globe. The splash pad is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day daily from 9 am to 8 pm, free of charge. (Dates and times are subject to change due to weather).
