Doanes Park in Pleasant Hill, Iowa

WOW! Doanes Park has gotten a major playground update. This bright playground draws kids in! It is great for the climbers, adventurers, slide thrill seekers, big kids, kids who love using their imagination. The large structure is made of two different towers. The lime green structure has ropes and belts galore inside, scattered throughout the tower to challenge your child’s planning and climbing skills. It is perfect for the risk-taking child who loves a challenge. There is also a large tube slide that shoots out from the very top! One side of this structure has a fun obstacle course area. That my kids especially enjoyed the thick rope bridge/swing.

The second side is a multi-level tower where my kids loved climbing through and hanging out with their friends. This side features one tall tube slide jetting out from the top. This structure has a few different unique climbing opportunities into the structure that my nine year old loved.

This playground also has a new 2-5 year old area that also has multiple all inclusive elements. This area is also turf covered and has several music instruments, sensory panels, a playhouse, and in ground merry go round.

Splash Pad

The new splash pad from 2024 has sprayers, sprinklers, nozzles and a spraying globe. My kids especially loved the spray globe. The splash pad is open Memorial Day to Labor Day daily from 9am to 8pm, free of charge. (Dates and times are subject to change due to weather.) There is a large climbing dome near the splash pad.
