Winter Wonderscape Experience at Reiman Gardens
Reiman Gardens located in Ames, Iowa near, Iowa State University, is a year-round attraction many families think of visiting during the warmer months, but Reiman Gardens has given a big reason to visit during the holiday season. The Winter Wonderscape Holiday Light Show is something you do not want to miss. This walk-through light show is back for another year! Families will enjoy an outdoor walk through a 17-acre campus filled with fantasy lights, sculptural forms, seasonal displays, and so much more.

Our family attended for the first time last year and we were extremely expressed by all of the thought and beauty that expanded the entire 17-acre site. When you enter you will be welcomed by a bright, colored tunnel and as you walk the grounds you will catch a wide variety of light installations. You will not want to miss the massive laser-lit disco balls, a twenty-foot-wide fountain of lights, dynamic light strands dancing across a frozen lake, a whimsical mushroom forest, Peter Rabbit, Elwood the Giant Gnome, and a variety of immersive light displays.
The massive disco balls were definitely a family favorite! The Winter Wonderscape event at Reiman Garden will definitely fill you with holiday cheer with the wide array of lights.
As you wind your way through the outdoor property (make sure you bundle up!) there is an opportunity to purchase hot chocolate and other small treats.
Last year, the Children’s Garden included a light show set to every child and child at heart’s favorite Frozen-themed music. This year, live music will be offered on select evenings in the Garden Room. We are excited to return for another year to catch some fun new surprises.
Although the Butterfly Wing and gift shop are not open during this specific event, you will not want to miss a stop to take in the butterflies working hard.
