Des Moines Parent Spotlight: Amanda Kramme of vIVid Wellness + Mobile IV

Amanda Kramme of vIVid Wellness + Mobile IV has some wise words of wisdom for all women with full plates.

“In today’s fast-paced society, remembering to prioritize ourselves, too, can be hard, especially as moms. I’ve often had to remind myself of this, but if you give yourself one thing today, give yourself permission to put yourself first.”

Des Moines Parent connected with Amanda to learn more about her and her journey.

Give us a little background on yourself.

I graduated from Ankeny in 2005, and completed my bachelor’s in nursing from Grandview. I spent nearly 12 amazing years as a labor and delivery nurse locally with Unity Point prior to deciding to open up my own business. I have two young kiddos who are 9 and 6, so like all of the local moms, running around to keep up with the sports schedules!

Could you give us an overview of your business and what inspired it?

I opened our mobile (concierge) IV side back in June of 2022, after doing a deep dive into the uses of IV vitamin therapy on both a preventative and actively ill side, intending to provide convenience! I’ve always been intrigued with holistic and functional medicine options, and with cancer prevalent in my family history, I wanted to be able to bring forth options for others who are looking to optimize their health and wellness. In March of 2023, we expanded our offerings into our Clive wellness lounge, bringing forth ozone therapy, functional medicine, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, aesthetics, and so much more! We wanted to create a welcoming space, providing a wide range of services to accommodate our clientele in multiple areas!

What are your favorite parts of your business?

My favorite part of being a small business owner is being able to get to know each client and provide top notch care for each one. I love being able to sit down and have those one-on-one conversations, whether it be on the mobile IV side or within the wellness lounge!

How do you juggle your parenting responsibilities with your business responsibilities?

My family will always come first, and that is one thing that I emphasize with our team — that family should always be prioritized. We all know how fast time goes, and no matter what is going on in business, my kids and their activities always come first … just don’t ask how my house looks, haha.

What are some of your favorite things to do with your family around the metro?

Anything we can do outside! The kiddos love going to various outdoor parks, trampoline parks, and really anything to keep them busy!

What’s your ideal parent day or night out?

Anything low-key. After busy work days, when we have a free day/night, I like to just chill. Typically, on a Friday night, you can find me and my family out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, which usually includes a good steak that my kids love! Another plus is patio season!

What’s your number one parenting tip?

Never give up and do the best you can. I grew up in a household that wouldn’t let me just quit when something got hard and always encouraged me to do my best.
