Spring Break Classes & Camps 2017

Spring Break is early this year! Are you prepared? There are several classes and workshops being held all over Central Iowa. Check out this great list below and register quickly! These can fill-up super fast. Am I missing your class or workshop? Let me know! Spring Safari 

March 13th 

9 am – 4 pm 

This year’s theme is Zoo Juniors! Has your kiddo ever wonder what it would be like to grow up as a rhinor or giraffe? Your child will be able to learn hands-on the different family structures in the animal kingdom. There will be games, art and activities.


March 13th & 14th 

March 16th & 17th 

9 am – 4:30 pm 

Climb Iowa camps will introduce young adventurers to rock climbing. Children will learn about trust, teamwork and problem solving while developing their rock climbing skills through interactive games and activities. For ages 7 years to 13 years, $140 for non-members.


Staycation: Treasures

March 18th 

10 am – 4 pm

Spend the day doing a unique hands-on activity or explore the museum! The current exhibition Alchemy: Transformations in Gold is all about the use of gold in art and the day will be surrounded around that topic. There will be a special kid’s menu from Chef’s Palette and the Art Center Cafe. Then entire day will be fun for the entire family.


Iowa Ninja Warrior

March 13th – 17th 

Iowa Circus Academy and Iowa Ninja Warrior team up for a week your child will never forget! Check out all the details here!


Polk County Conservation 

March 15th 

9 am – 3 pm 

Your child will learn and stay active! Activities include archery, geocaching, and survival skills! Your children will also make their own lunch over a fire they help build! This camp is for children ages 10-12.


March 16th – 19th

The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden has tons of classes and workshops scheduled. Including Story Sprouts, held on Friday morning, pop-up education stations and studios on Saturday, a Garden Pizza Party or make Air Plant Wreaths!


West Des Moines 

March – April 

Monday – Friday 

10 am – Noon 

Keep little maker’s creativity flowing during Spring Break! Each day, kids will explore with different craft supplies. There are no instructions, just use your imagination! $2 per project supplies included. Ages 3 and up. Each session is 30 minutes long.


Lots of different day camps available this spring break! Including Camp Fire Day Camp, Outrageous Day Camp, Outrageous Overnight and tons more. Check our the Spring Programs on their website.


WDM Community Center 

March 14th & 16th 

9 am – 11:45 am 

Your kids will spend two days learning from professional magician Lee Cole on how to entertain and amaze your friends and family! They will learn all sorts of tricks and all magic material are provided. For ages 8 to 15 years of age, $45.


March 13th – 17th 

Experience Spring Break without the hassles of traveling and weather! Sign your child up for a 1-day or 5-day camp full of hands-on, interactive activities, or sign the whole family up for a one-day experience on the 1900 Farm. If you are a Living History Farms member, you receive a 15% off discount. 


March 13th – 17th 

Spring Break Day Camps are a great way to get a preview of what Summer Day Camps are like at Prairie Life Fitness. Snacks and lunch are provided. Themes include: Pirates, Party in the USA, Everything Disney, Wild Wild West and more! Day camps run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. 


Animal Rescue League 

March 13th – 15th 

9 am – 3 pm 

These Spring Break Workshops include a theme each day such as Wildlife Allies, Shelter Heroes, and Barn Buddies. These workshops are offered for children ages 8-12. You can register for one day or for all three days! Registration is $50 per day.  


West Des Moines Parks & Rec

March 16th & 17th 

1 pm – 4 pm 

Spend some time at Raccoon River Park Archery Facility! You will have the opportunity to practice your archery skills and possibly learn some new skills! Ages 9 to 12 years, $25.

Erin Huiatt

Erin is a reliable resource and stepping stone for women and families to find support and make connections within our community. She wants families to feel confident to reach out and ask for help and advice to get pointed in the right direction. She enjoys traveling and exploring with her two children in tow!
