All-Inclusive Playground at North Park in Carlisle, Iowa
Des Moines River Dental Care Playground at North Park in Carlisle, Iowa is an all-inclusive playground opened in the summer of 2023.
This is a playground where no pictures or videos do this park justice. As my kids and I walked up we were all in awe of every little detail at this park. It seemed like during the hour we spent at this park, my kids kept finding new little details to get excited about.
On the main playground structure, there is a ramp that runs throughout most of the playground. There are multiple smaller slides for little ones, two large slides for the bigger kids, and a roller slide. My kids loved the speed of the half-open slide.
There are many unique climbing aspects that lead up to the main structure. My kids loved the wooden plank bridge. There are multiple accessible sensory boards and educational boards throughout the structure. My kids really enjoyed learning how to say hello in different languages and spelling their names in sign language.
There are two swing sets with standard swings, one baby swing, one adaptable swing, and one generational swing. Also off to the side is a large accessible musical area.
North Park is a large 25-acre park with many shade trees throughout. There are seven shelters throughout the park. Near the log cabin, there is a community-maintained flower garden that has multiple sitting areas to enjoy the beauty.
