One of our favorite parts of fall is exploring fun seasonal festivals and farms. Whether it be swimming in a corn pool, taking all the Instagram-worthy photo ops, or eating fall-themed treats it is the perfect time to celebrate. Bloomsbury Farm located in Atkins, Iowa offers an over-the-top Fall Festival (sometimes referred to as the Harvest Festival) that invites people from all over to attend during the Autumn days. Bloomsbury Farm Location

Bloomsbury Farm is located in Atkins, Iowa just outside of Cedar Rapids. The official address is 3260 69th St. If you are coming from Des Moines, Iowa it is about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Easy for a quick day trip, but if you want to plan a night away check out this awesome Airbnb we stayed at when we made our visit! 

2023 Bloomsbury Farm Hours

The 2023 season kicks off on September 22 through October 29. They are only open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. so plan accordingly! Set your alarms for their flash sale that starts September 14 at 8 a.m. 

All Things Pumpkin

Like any farm or fall festival, Bloomsbury Farm does not mess around when it comes to pumpkins! Wherever you went you would find pumpkins all over including the iconic Pumpkin House.  Looking to bring home some pumpkins?  Bloomsbury is the area’s largest pumpkin patch! You can take the pumpkin shuttle out to the 18 acres of pumpkins or you can select from the many pre-picked pumpkins available. 

Kids Activities Galore

There is no shortage of fun things to do for kids and adults will love it too! Get lost in the 10-acre corn maze, jump in the corn pool at the Corn Palace, enjoy hayrack rides, make large bubbles at the Bubble Barn, catch a thrill on the Bee Line Mini Zip, giant tube slides, or Derecho Super Slide, jump on the jumping pillow, or get bouncy at Bouncy Town.

Fall-Themed Treats

There is no shortage of food and drink when you attend the Fall Festival at Bloomsbury Farm. They offer super gourmet and over-the-top drinks, wine tasting, Glass Alley Beer Garden, donuts, and lunch items. You will not go hungry! 

2023 Special Events

Save the date! Enjoy everyone’s favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus on September 23rd. You may even see a Sanderson sister. Bring your camera! Or something a bit more spooky, save the date for Wine with the Witch on October 19th with frightful food, and entertainment. Take a look at the full descriptions on their website

Scream Acres Scream Park

Love a scare? Make sure you plan to attend Scream Acres a fun twist on a haunted house! It includes The Slaughterhouse, haunted cornfield, 3D Sinister Silo, and more. Scream Acres opens on October 6 and runs through October 28. It is open from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. If you want to attend the Fall Festival and Scream Acres plan for October!

How much is admission?


$21.95 per person at the gate. Everyone over the age of 3 years old requires a ticket. Flash sale pricing is $13.95. 

Is everything included with admission? 

A lot is included, but there are some things that cost additional money including food and drink, Geode Smashing, Gemstone Mining, and Apple Blasters. 

Can you bring in outside food?


Their website states you can as long as it is eaten in the picnic area near the parking lot. We brought in water bottles and small snacks in my purse. 

Are there special offerings for groups and/or birthday parties? 


Yes! Bloomsbury Farm offers packages for corporate outings/corporate events, field trips, scout groups, and birthday parties. Take a look at all the details
