Acadia Park in Urbandale, Iowa

Acadia is a brand new park created in the summer of 2023 in Urbandale. This is a quaint neighborhood park that is perfect for the younger crowd. The playground has a smaller standard playground structure. We love that there is a toddler-sized pyramid net climber. This is great for those kids who love to climb but you’re not quite ready to have them climb a full-sized pyramid net climber.

My kids loved that it was a quiet park. As a mom, I think this would be the perfect little playdate spot when my kids were younger–not near a busy road, picnic tables for lunch under an open-air shelter, and small structure so all the kids stay close.

Who doesn’t love the City of Urbandale’s commitment to public art. This park has one of the many butterfly cutouts that are spread throughout the city. We took at least 50 pictures as butterflies while we were there.
