Indoor Fun at Hop-A-Lot Rentals

It is winter in Iowa and central Iowa is filled with indoor places to run, play and explore. We checked out a new location last week and it did not disappoint! You will want to add Hop-A-Lot Rentals to your places to play and celebrate in the Des Moines area.
Location
Hop-A-Lot mainly known for renting their bounce houses and inflatables for parties has opened an indoor location in West Des Moines across the street from Valley West Mall. This is the perfect way for kids and families to check out all of their bounce houses in one spot. Hop-A-Lot used to be located at Merle Hay Mall, but now you can find them at 1600 Valley West Drive. It is easy to access from anywhere in the Des Moines metro off of I-235.
What to Expect at Hop-A-Lot
I was very pleased with how organized it was especially since we were visiting on a super cold, winter break day. There is a ton of space for the kids to run and play. They offered a limited amount of chairs, benches, and tables around the room so parents could sit while their children played. If you have some work to do or email to check bring your laptop while the kids burn off energy.
They offer several fun inflatables including:
- Obstacle courses
- Unique inflatables such as the fun circus train and Hello Kitty-themed bounce house
- Inflatable games such as soccer, basketball, and football
They also offer VR (Virtual Reality) and other fun games at different times and days.
Food and Snacks
Every child always wants a snack! Hop-A-Lot offers a Refreshments Stand that sells pizza, popcorn, water, pop, and other various snacks. They are decently priced. You are able to bring in your own water bottle. If you forget your water they have drinking fountains or they will fill a cup of water for you for free. You will definitely want water on hand while the kids run and play.
Events
Save the date and visit Hop-A-Lot during one of the various events they offer throughout the year. One of their popular events is Nachos Night for children in grades 1st – 7th. Which is a fun evening filled with automatic nerf guns and Nerf darts. No automatic Nerf guns are allowed. - Monday & Tuesday: CLOSED
- Wednesday – Friday: Noon to 8 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m.

This indoor playground offers open play pricing which means there are no time limits when you visit. Pay one price and play all day long!
