Fall Fun at Central Iowa’s Pumpkin Patches

Fall is one of my family’s favorite times of year.  One of the reasons for that is fun filled trips to local pumpkin patches and orchards.  Luckily we have some great ones to choose from here in Central Iowa.  Check out the list:

Center Grove Orchard (#1 On DMP Fall Bucket List)- We’re sure you’ll gather as many happy memories as apples and pumpkins. Enjoy daily hayrides, corn pool, corn maze and hay maze, farm animals, pedal tractors, weekend festivals with live entertainment, and so much more. Don’t forget the jumping pillows, rubber duck races, Three Little Pigs houses, and apple sling shot.  Of course, you can pick your own apples and find your perfect pumpkin.

The Pumpkin Ranch – Zip lines and Iowa’s Mega Corn Maze, a 9 acre mystery corn maze that’s appropriate for all ages. The kids will enjoy our playground, jump houses and tire tower.  And for the kid in all of us…tennis ball launchers that you shoot at targets in our pond. The Pumpkin Ranch will keep you filled up and energized with our specialty ciders and hot chocolate, baked goods, homemade popcorn and lunch items from local vendors.

Willis Family Orchard – Organic Apples, pumpkin picking, corn maze, barnyard animals and much more await you at Willis Family Orchard. Experience fall in Iowa at Wills Family Orchard & take home memories and that fresh country taste found in each one of our orchard products.

Howell’s Pumpkin Patch (#5 on DMP Fall Bucket List)- Antique tractors are making continuous rounds out to the Corn Maze and the Pumpkin Patch, so plan on the whole family climbing aboard the wagons for a country ride, a chance to explore the twisting and winding maze, It’s all about family, and the kids, Howell’s Dried Florals, Greenhouse, Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, in Cumming, Iowa, just south of Des Moines. Don’t forget your camera and to then pick out the perfect pumpkins for each member of the family. The wagon ride, including your visit to the Pumpkin Patch and the Corn Maze, is included in the per person admission (under 2 free), plus the cost of your pumpkins if you choose to purchase them.  Come see the friendly Barn Yard, where kids can see live farm animals including goats, sheep, pigs, and chickens. Over in the Kiddie Korral, they have a special farm playground with pedal tractors, wiggle cars, hay stacks to climb on, a straw bale maze, the corn box, a giant slide, and many other activities.
