Deer Creek Park in Ankeny, Iowa
Deer Creek Park is our favorite neighborhood park in Ankeny. The long zip line is the center of attention when my family visits. My kids love that it is longer than most standard zip lines found at other parks. (Mom has definitely ridden it several times too!)
This park features two playground structures. The 5-12-year-old structure has unique different ways to climb up and around with several slides. My kids love the wood plank climbing part and the rope climbing area. The 2-5-year-old playground structure offers several different ways for kids to climb up and go down.

If you find yourself needing a sprayground after playing at Deer Creek, Sunrise Park, 506 SE Peterson Dr, is a short 8-minute drive away and has a simple sprayground that is perfect to cool down with.
If looking for a good local family-owned coffee shop nearby, I definitely recommend Porch Light Coffee, 417 SW 3rd St (8-minute drive from Deer Creek.) I am always a fan of their unique seasonal lattes and pastries.
