Welcome to The Country Experience {TCE} Family Farm Stays!
A Family Farm Stay weekend at The Country Experience (TCE) is more than just a place to stay – it’s an opportunity to be together while immersing yourself in relaxing country life.
From the minute you drive through the gate, we invite you to unplug, relax, and enjoy being away on the farm. Your days are determined by your own pace, rhythm, and interests – the farm is the perfect place to experience new things together or sit back and take in the beauty of nature.
We welcome you to dive into farm life as much as you’re comfortable – whether that’s hands-on with the goats and rabbits or peaceful walks on the mile-long path. Many guests enjoy a farm tour on Friday and join in animal feedings on Saturday morning. Our staff will make sure you’re comfortable in your cabin, acquainted with the animals, and well-fed.

Where Will We Stay?
You’ll have one of our 5 cozy cabins all to yourself. The cabins are built especially for TCE with A/C, heat, ceiling fans, and skylights. It’s not exactly roughing it. Each cabin sleeps up to 8 people and will be configured to fit your needs with bunks and/or a king bed.
Our cabins are located at the high point of the farm, just a short walk from the Gathering Barn which holds recently renovated bathrooms and showers. On-demand hot water ensures your comfort, and we’ll provide soft blankets, linens, and towels.

What Will We Eat?
Great food is core to the TCE farm experience. Two dinners and two breakfasts are included in your weekend stay, using farm-fresh ingredients prepared with care by our chef. Hand-tossed pizza from our wood-fired oven on Saturday evening is a favorite.
Lunch on Saturday is on your own and many find that’s a great opportunity to explore the area, shop or hike, and visit a nearby restaurant. We keep a nut-aware kitchen and accommodate any and all food allergies and preferences, which you can discuss with our Director prior to your stay.
What Farm Activities Can We Enjoy?
Your weekend at TCE is designed by you – with a little help from us. A good start is a farm tour which will orient you to our barns, gardens, and animals. We’ll discuss a schedule and menu for meals and talk about animal feedings and chores, which many guests enjoy being a part of.
Most importantly, we leave lots of open time for you to engage in activities on and around the farm! Here are some of our favorite things to do:
- brush the goats
- pick alfalfa to feed to the rabbits
- collect and wash eggs
- climb in the treehouse
- fish in the pond
- relax in a hammock
- swing on the willows

What Else Does the Farm Offer?
TCE also hosts Summer Camp on the farm! Camp is a week-long sleepaway experience for 7-17-year-olds, full of meaningful fun where children get in touch with the substance of their character and develop a greater sense of the world.
We use hands-on experiences and real-world tools to build an appreciation for the value of time and effort, a respect for life and nature, and the development of important life skills including communication, responsibility, decision-making, teamwork, and respect for self and others.
In addition to summer camp, TCE also hosts overnight School Visits to the farm each Spring and Fall. As a Montessori-based farm, The Country Experience is a prepared environment where children experience life and learn about themselves, their abilities, and their place in the world.
As a partner to teachers and schools, we support efforts to guide the children, to meet their developmental, intellectual, and social needs.
Our facilities and programs are built to allow you and your class inside the fences, where children care for the animals, gardens, and each other. We base our activities on the real-life of the farm, so instead of “imagine you need to….,” we go out and do it, feed the animals, plant, and harvest in the garden, prepare, serve, and clean up after meals, along with lots of free-range fun.
