Sara McClintock’s pride and joy are her two children. Perhaps next on the list of what makes her proud, though, is her business, through which she helps people create a healthy lifestyle.

Give us a little background on yourself.

I am a single mamma, divorced twice. I have two children who are amazing. I do now have a boyfriend who is amazing. I chose not to re-marry due to trauma I have from my past. I have lived in the Des Moines area for roughly 31 years. I grew up in Percival, Iowa, and attended high school at Sidney High School in Sidney, Iowa, graduating in the class of ’92.

Could you give us an overview of your business and what inspired it?

I am a health transformation coach. I help people gain health through nutrition meal planning, one-on-one coaching, healthy habits for a lifestyle change through education and training, and a support community. I got started by becoming a client and seeing how amazing the program was, the products that work and learning how to be healthy. It has changed my life so I wanted to help others.

What are your favorite parts of your business?

I love owning this business as it is mine. I get to decide my schedule, how I do things and what I do. I love this business because I truly love helping others save and change their lives. I have helped many get off medications, be able to shop again and feel confident.

How do you juggle your parenting responsibilities with your work responsibilities?

It’s hard sometimes but easy … I get to work from anywhere, so I don’t miss anything. I also can take my kids with me when possible so it’s very nice. I like that I can work at any time but mostly from anywhere.

What are some of your favorite things to do with your family around the metro?

We LOVE the lake. You will find us at Saylorville Lake all summer. We also like to attend sporting events and concerts and do anything outside.

What’s your number one parenting tip?

No matter what, it’s about your kids. I will always put my kids first, but the one thing I love is I can now create memories and experiences that I have in my business.
