Radisson Blu Mall of America: A Family-Friendly Experience

Sharing is caring!

Disclosure: I received free product and services from Radisson Blu in exchange for my review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own!

My family and I had the wonderful opportunity to experience a weekend getaway to the Mall of America in Minneapolis! Not only did we have a blast experiencing EVERYTHING that the Mall of America has to offer, we felt right at home at the Radisson Blu. I cannot say enough great things about our stay and I am excited to take you on a little “tour” through this modern, family-friendly place to stay!

The Lobby

When you step into the hotel, the first thing you will notice is the beautiful, modern feel. My favorite part was the little lounge area! These cute raindrop chairs were not only comfy, but super fun for the kids to sit and play in. It was set-up right near the fireplace. A great place to grab a book or magazine and relax!

Welcome

The staff was amazing and very welcoming when we entered the hotel, and when we got up to our room there were lots of fun gifts for us too! As a part of our stay, we enjoyed the Crayola Experience Package. The kids were thrilled to see their fun Crayola backpacks with all sorts of goodies in them including: Crayola Markers, Crayola Bath Dropz, Crayola Crayons, Crayola Chalk, a Crayola Notepad, and a blue stuffed crayon (what other color would they have, at the Radisson Blu?!) Along with the goodies, we also received tickets to the Crayola Experience at the Mall of America. The Radisson Blu offers several different add-on packages including: Play and Stay, American Dream Package, American Girl Package, and more!

FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar

The hotel’s restaurant, FireLake had a wonderful vibe and delicious food! We decided to eat breakfast the first morning we were there. Their menu and recipes include farm-to-table ingredients! They offer a dining area, the bar area, and if you would like to eat in your room, you can order room service as well. They have very unique items such as the Brick-Oven Apple Pannekoeken, or their Lemon-Ricotta Cornmeal Waffle Platter (which was amazing!) Don’t let the unique restaurant fool you, it is very family-friendly and they will customize items for you. When you have two very picky children, this a plus! Thinking of dinner? You can book a table here!

Meeting Area

I call this area the meeting area, but it pretty much is another area to lounge and relax. If you are in town for a business trip, this is a great place to sit down in one of their funky chairs, plug your laptop into one of the several outlets they have, and get some work done. While I was taking pictures, Amelia tested out every. single. chair. Every chair around this large meeting table is different. I love the artistic vibe!

Hotel Room

I apologize for my pictures of the actual hotel room. They do not do the rooms justice! To go along with the modern and funky style of the hotel, each room was decorated with the same feel. We had two rooms and each room was decorated and set-up differently, which I love. This allows it to be a bit more personable and invites you back to check out one of their other hotel rooms! I loved the deep bath tub, I may have taken a couple of baths :). They also have a small refrigerator in each room, so pack snacks!

Other Details

The hotel offers a large pool, which we enjoyed splashing and playing in. Another huge benefit is the hotel is directly connected to the Mall of America. We checked in on Friday evening and we did not leave the hotel or Mall of America until Sunday afternoon, when we left to go home. Once we parked, the car stayed put! This is a great added benefit when you are traveling with kiddos. No need to get everyone packed up in car seats, everything is inside and within walking distance.

This is the perfect getaway trip as the colder temps set in. Need to do some holiday shopping? Shop and experience all at one! What are you waiting for?! Book your trip today!
