Staycation with Polk County Conservation Cabins

Gather with friends and families around the fire pit, play yard games on a surrounding shaded lawn, hike nearby woods, or explore via canoe/kayak provided with each cabin rental. Begin and end the day gazing over the nearby pond or bird watch from the deck of the cabin.

When the weather outside is unpleasant, gather inside to enjoy games, puzzles, or read by the gas fireplace. Reserve these cabins for those winter retreats of snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or relaxing by a fire. We do not provide Wi-Fi or television to distract you from the nature surrounding the cabins. This will allow you more time be active outdoors or just sit and enjoy the scenery.

Jester Park near Granger offers four 1 and 2 bedroom multi-level modern timber-framed cabins and Thomas Mitchell Park near Altoona offers one modern 3 bedroom cabin. All cabins are furnished with dishes, glassware, and kitchenware so all you need to bring is your groceries to stock the fully equipped kitchen. All cabins have an accessible bathroom/shower and provide bath towels, sheets, and bedding.

Staycations, especially during the pandemic, have been a welcome distraction for many families. All cabins are thoroughly disinfected after every rental. Each season offers unique outdoor opportunities and memories. Get away while staying close to home and experience the beauty of nature.

Cabin reservations are available online. The amenities offered, items provided and supplies needed for each cabin are located online at www.mycountyparks.com. Pets are not allowed inside the cabins or the surrounding cabin area.
