Haines Park in Altoona, Iowa

Haines Park is a beautiful park. The tall trees and beautiful landscaping invite both kids and adults to enjoy. The playground is two large climbing-focused play structures attached to monkey bars. My kids loved trying to figure out all the different ways they could climb up and over this equipment.

Off to the side is a 2-5-year-old playground that offers multiple ways for little ones to climb, go through, or slide down also offering several things to touch and discover. This playground also offers both toddler and standard swings. There is also a net merry-go-round.

Splash Pad

Haines Park, in the summer of 2024, had a new free splash pad added to the southwest corner of the park. The splash pad is about 300 feet from the playground, so be prepared if this would be an obstacle for your family. This splash pad features only in-ground sprayers, which some kids prefer.

During the summer months, the splash pad will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
