Pickard Recreation Area 

Bring your own flashlight and hunt for eggs! Prizes will be awarded and then enjoy s’mores and hot chocolate around a campfire. Make sure you register.

9 to 9:30 a.m.  

Woodlawn Park 

Debra Heights Wesleyan Church’s annual Community Easter Egg Hunt features more than 10,000 eggs. Come early to enjoy the festivities!

Prairie Vista Village, Altoona 

They will have face painting, balloon art, snacks, Easter egg hunt and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.

Valley Stadium 

The Special Egg Event is a free Easter egg hunt for children with special needs and their families. Enjoy food, carnival games, activity areas, and egg hunts that are designed for your child.
A Quiet Egg Hunt for children at the Autism Spectrum or children with Sensory Processing issues who need a quieter environment. Children who do not need a calm sensory environment should sign up for the general egg hunt. A Beeping egg Hunt for children who are bling or visually impaired. A Magnetic Egg Hunt for children with wheelchairs or mobility restrictions. Magnetic eggs and poles allow children to collect eggs.


Sunday, March 25 

10:30 a.m. to Noon

Annett Nature Center 

Join Warren County Conservation for this family fun event! Older kids (5-10 years old) search for eggs while enjoying a scenic nature hike with their parent/guardian. There will be eggs hidden on the Annett Nature Center property, and each child will receive clues as to where to find them. There will also be a little tykes (4 and below) hunt in the butterfly garden! The egg hunts will begin at 10:30 am, please arrive by 10:15 am to get checked in and sign in for the raffle.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be crafts in the Annett Nature Center and a basket for egg recycling. Egg hunters will also be able to register for a raffle to win a prize!

Please register each child (and include their age) that will be hunting eggs at this event by . This is a free event, registration allows us to properly prepare eggs and crafts.


Tuesday, March 27 

5:30 to 7:30 p.m. 

Hotel Renovo 

Time to put all of your eggs in one basket and join us for our 2nd Annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt at Renovo! Enjoy a glass of wine and hunt around Renovo for some EGG-cellent prizes and other treats! The hunt will officially begin at 5:45 pm and will be around the Hotel Renovo grounds, with a special golden egg prize announcement at 6:30 pm.

Enjoy samples from local Barn Town Brewing w with live music by Mike Aceto from 6-8 pm on the veranda.

The Bridge Campus of Meredith Drive Reformed Church

Looking for an age appropriate Easter egg hunt where your child can fully participate in a calm and inviting atmosphere? This Easter Treasure Hunt has a session for preschoolers through kindergartners and another session geared for elementary kids in 1st-4th grades.  Each age appropriate session includes activities lead by  leaders including activities and crafts, storytelling, and of course hunting for special eggs and treat bags! They welcome children 4 years old (by 9/15/18) through 4th grade to come and hunt for the real meaning of Easter. Adult should attend with their child.  If you have children in both age groups they will be happy to supervise your older child in the elementary Easter egg hunt.  No need to bring your own basket as they have special treat bags for everyone! Please arrive 15 minutes early so  guests can get settled in their age appropriate groups.

Co-hosted by the Ames Jaycees, festivities will include an egg hunt for all children 6th grade and younger. The egg hunt will run continuously from 9 to 11 a.m. Children will have the opportunity to search for colorful eggs to trade in for a goody bag. Goody bags will be provided. In case of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors. No registration required. Admission is free for everyone.

Ted Lare Design Build & Garden Center 

The Easter Egg Hunt is for ages 11 and under. The Easter Bunny  will hide over 7,000 eggs for the kids to find and he will be around for photos with your children. His helpers will also hand out an additional 500 eggs after the hunt to make sure all children go home with eggs.

Ankeny Band Shell

The Ankeny First United Church Easter Egg Hunt is free to all ages (up to 4th grade). Tinkerbell, Cinderella and Rapunzel will be making a visit.

New this year! There will be a Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt at the Ankeny Aquatics Center Wading Area. Special beeping and magnetic eggs will be provided with prizes. The Ankeny Aquatics Center Wading Area is wheelchair and handicap accessible.

Living History Farms

This is fun for the entire family. The morning includes egg hunts (divided by age), egg rolling, pancake rolling, live animals, horse and wagon rides, and games. This is a one-of-a-kind urban family experience with more than 17,000 candy- and prize-filled eggs, music, games and laughter. The event is brought to you by The Gateway Church and is completely FREE!

After the massive egg hunt, stick around for more family fun at the Kids’ Art Station, Giant Inflatables Area and the Face Painting Station. Parents can keep up with the hunting mayhem with FREE coffee all morning long!

Make sure you arrive early. Children will be divided in age groups to dive for colored eggs in the pool. Each egg will be turned in for a prize. Diving will begin with the youngest age group and continue until all age groups have participated. $6 admission.

National Balloon Classic Balloon Field 

Starting at 4:30 pm, 50,000 Easter Eggs will be dropped from hot-air balloons onto a designated area of the field. Once they have all landed, the kids will be unleashed to gather up as many as they can! The eggs will be filled with candy and prizes. The kids will be divided into three age groups: Toddlers through Preschoolers, Kindergartners through 2nd graders, and 3rd graders through 5th graders.
If the weather is not cooperating, we will have a helicopter on stand-by to drop the eggs!


Sunday, April 1

2 to 5 p.m. 

Summerset Winery, Indianola 

Live music by James Biehn will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and the hunt will take place at some point during that time.

The hunt is for ADULTS ONLY and will have an adult theme and adult prizes. The kids are more than welcome to attend Sunday Tunes which is a family friendly environment, but we ask that you do not let them participate in the Adult Easter Egg Hunt.

Spring is in the air! Join the Clive Public Library and EGGs-plore through stories, music, crafts, games, and an indoor scavenger hunt. Register online or contact the library at 515-453-2221

Waukee Parks & Recreation 

Help the Waukee Parks and Recreation Department spread some Easter cheer around Waukee’s Downtown Triangle Businesses by participating in the annual Easter Coloring Contest! Download your color pages, color and send them in.

A winner for each category will be announced at the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31, and winners will receive an egg’cellent Easter basket filled with goodies.
