This cute shop is located in the heart of Dallas Center and sells great gifts, antiques, and collectibles. It is such a great shop to wander around. You won’t leave without something special. In addition, they host fun events, are open late, and serve adult beverages for those who like to listen to local, live music and more.
The Brenton Arboretum

We love The Brenton Arboretum! This gem of nature is located just south of the city and is filled with nature trails, trees, and a natural playground, and they offer programming. The Brenton Arboretum is a 148-acre not-for-profit institution that is a great place to get outside and the Iowa scenery.

Dallas Center Community Pool

After a bike ride or a hike at The Brenton Arboretum, make a stop at the Dallas Center Community Pool for a splash! This newly renovated pool has a diving board and a zero-entry pool for the littlest swimmers. Of course, you can grab some of your favorite candy and snacks at the concession stands while you lay poolside.
Dallas Center Farmers Market

Who doesn’t love a Farmers’ Market! Every Tuesday from June through August Dallas Center hosts a Farmers’ Market from 4 to 7 p.m. Enjoy local vendors, live music, food trucks, and more. Dallas Center Roller Skate Rink

Did you know that an outdoor roller skating rink existed in central Iowa? There is one right in Dallas Center located at Mound Park! The skate rink and concession stand are open during the summer on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 to 9 p.m. During the month of September, the skate rink and concession stand are open on Fridays only from 6 to 8 p.m. They also offer fun theme nights. Five Points Bar and Grill

Five Points Bar and Grill is your classic sports bar and grill located just off the bike trail. A great stop for a bloody mary, beer, and some tasty food. Take a look at their Facebook page to stay up to date on events and specials.
The Handlebar

Another great place to eat for lunch or dinner while you are playing in Dallas Center! The Handlebar is located right off the bike trail with tons of bike parking, a cute pond, and outdoor seating. Grab your favorite local brew, a shareable, pizza, or burger. A great place to meet friends and hang out. Korner Kone Eats N’ Treats

Mound Park

Mound Park is a little hub of Dallas Center. This is where many events take place such as the Farmers’ Market. It is a huge park with playground equipment, fields, shelters, and more. My kids love the newer, ninja course type playground. Hours of fun for all ages!
Raccoon River Valley Trail
Address: Heritage Park at 14th St. and Walnut St.
The trailhead for the Raccoon River Valley Trail is located in Dallas Center. There are public restrooms that are open year round, picnic tables, and a bike repair station. One of our favorite rides is parking here or at the Waukee trailhead and riding between the two trailheads. The ride is about 7 miles one direction, but is fairly flat and a great ride for families.
Sugar Grove Goods

Before your adventures in Dallas Center you are going to need a pick-me-up! Make a stop at Sugar Grove Goods for a coffee beverage. In addition to all the coffee things, they also sell donuts, homemade good from the owners local homestead, and more. There is a cute little children’s area for kids to play while you sip on your coffee and chat with friends. A beautiful community space!
