Seasonal Print Art

Seasonal Print Art

Throughout the year the trio of shelves in my living room rotate décor as the seasons change. Handprint and footprint art has become my favorite way to decorate using the ever-growing and ever-changing hands and feet of my son. Creating the art itself is a fun activity that we can do together and gives my son the chance to get messy with paint while the finished product is a priceless keepsake.

Canvas boards in a variety of sizes ranging from 8×8 to 8×10 to 9×16 have been the base for all our art pieces. Nontoxic, washable acrylic paints in a variety of colors work well for handprints and footprints. Over the years, I have experimented with different writing utensils, some of which have turned out better than others. For most all writing on the boards, Sharpie paint markers glide across the canvas well while providing a sharp and vibrant look.
