Celebrate Read Across Iowa this March with ISU Extension and Outreach!
Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach in Polk County is excited to host several literacy events throughout the month of March! Read Across Iowa, which coincides with National Literacy Month, is a special month-long celebration to help motivate children to read and bring the joy of reading to students of all ages. ISU Extension in Polk County will kick off the month by offering a special session of Our Bookshelf, a virtual program to help parents make reading fun for their preschoolers. Additionally, they will host three library story times across Polk County with partner libraries.
Our Bookshelf is a virtual program where parents of preschoolers learn skills to provide their children with early literacy and language experiences that lead to school readiness. Those enrolled in the session will receive a free book and reading guide. Additionally, participants will be able to provide feedback to help determine future program times and opportunities. Registration is required.
When: Sunday, March 5 from 4-4:30 p.m.
Cost: Free! Register by March 4
