With a vision for connecting families through musical experiences of shared delight, Pied Piper Studios’ year-round Kindermusik classes have been a part of hundreds of families’ favorite memories since 2006. Through singing, rhythmic movement, dancing, storytelling, instrument exploration, and more, families build expressive confidence and create lasting relationships. Pied Piper Studios believes all people are innately musical from birth and that everyone deserves access to the joy and empowerment of making music in community.

What can I expect in a class?

Children and caregivers in class are nurtured in developmentally appropriate, research-backed, child-led musical play that engages the whole brain and body. Accredited Kindermusik Educators guide children and their grownups through 45-minute weekly classes brimming with activities that not only support important motor, language, and thinking skills, but emotional and relational skills too. Expect to sing, move, play, read, explore instruments, and more. Dedicated time for active listening and restful co-regulation are features families love, along with complimentary Unlimited Attendance access to enjoy extra classes at no additional cost.

What do they offer and when?

Pied Piper Studios is proud to be among the top 50 programs in the world who choose to teach the Kindermusik curriculum. They offer the following levels:

Foundations (birth – 1’s): The caregiver participates in the full 45 minutes.
Level 1 (1’s & 2’s): Caregiver participates in the full 45 minutes; All Ages option for enrolling siblings; baby siblings under 7 months can tag along tuition-free.
Level 2 (2’s & 3’s): Caregiver participates in the full 45 minutes; All Ages option for enrolling siblings; baby siblings under 7 months can tag along tuition-free.
Level 3 (3’s & 4’s): Students attend the first 35 minutes, and caregivers and siblings participate in the final 10 minutes.
Level 4 (4’s & 5’s): Students attend the first 35 minutes, and caregivers and siblings participate in the final 10 minutes.

Cost

Everyone deserves access to music education and musical expression. To increase financial accessibility, Pied Piper Studios offers a sliding-scale tuition model. Families have the freedom to select their monthly tuition payment according to their resources. There is no minimum commitment. You can start or stop at any time of year. Access to a full streaming library of corresponding thematic music albums and home activities is included.

Additional programming and events

Open Studio: Drop in on Thursday mornings between 10:30 am and noon to play and explore the studio’s collection of instruments and movement props at your own pace while you chat with friends. Open Studio is open to the public and no reservation is required. Best suited for ages newborn to 5 years. Pay-what-you-choose at the door to help keep this community offering accessible for all families.

Musical Storytime: Join Miss Jenn from Pied Piper Studios on the first Sunday of every month at 10:30 am at Reading in Public Bookstore + Cafe in Valley Junction for a monthly Musical Storytime. Enjoy themed songs, movement, instrument play, and a story. No registration is required. Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.

Read & Rhyme Storytime: Join Miss Rebecca from Pied Piper Studios every Wednesday at 10:30 am at The Little Book in Highland Park for a weekly storytime featuring simple fingerplays, rhymes, and puppets. No registration is required. Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
