Halloween Boo Baskets

I love to be a little extra when it comes to holidays and what is wrong with spreading a little extra spooky or Halloween cheer?! It has become a tradition with my kids that I create a fun basket when a holiday rolls around and it has become a favorite tradition for the whole family. On October 1st we kick off the Halloween season by opening Halloween Boo Baskets.

What is a Halloween Boo Basket?

A Halloween Boo Basket is simply a themed basket all geared toward Halloween! It is a great way to gift some fun Halloween books, crafts, pajamas, treats, games, and other Halloween items to use all season long and get everyone into the Halloween spirit. Homemade spooky baskets do not need to be complicated and can be as elaborate as you want them. Or they can be simple and include some fun Halloween candy and a new book. The fun part of Halloween Boo Basket is you can get as creative as you want. There is no right or wrong way to do it.

Halloween Boo Basket Ideas

Creating a Halloween Boo Basket is a fun way to celebrate the spooky season. You can find goodies for baskets all over! I am sharing some of my favorite fun Halloween Boo Basket ideas below.

Halloween Pajamas

Halloween pajamas are a great option to be worn all season long, not just on Halloween night. They typically are also worn all year round until they no longer fit. This year I purchased some fun Halloween pajamas from Old Navy. They offer some great options for the entire family. I loved the bat and pizza ones. They are super fun for my oldest who only has a few more years of this fun tradition, so I am soaking it up.

In addition, I purchased some fun slippers to go with them. I cannot get over how cute the s’mores slippers are. We are taking one final camping adventure at the beginning of October and this will be perfect.

Throw Blanket

I feel like I hit the jackpot with these super soft Halloween-themed blankets from Target. They are only $10 each and are perfect for wrapping up for a Halloween movie night or camping adventure. They have some fun prints and are such a great size. I will definitely be stealing this often.

Halloween Books

Every new holiday or season I love to bring out new books that go along with the holiday or season. Halloween gift baskets are a great way to gift a new book to add to the collection. We have so many favorites! Shop all our favorites here.

Halloween Activities

My daughter loves arts and crafts and I love to add an activity or Halloween crafts for some additional spooky fun to their boo baskets. There are many things you can grab from Target, Amazon, or Dollar Tree. I love to look through Bullseye’s Playground as well to find some fun Halloween fun. That area always offers lots of ideas. Grab out the activity for a lazy Sunday morning or to keep the kids busy while you are making dinner. Take a look at some of my favorite craft kits and other ideas below.

Boo Basket Fillers

This is a general term for all of the other fun items you can place in your Halloween Boo Baskets. Get creative! I love to add fun Halloween treats and/or snacks I may come across while grocery shopping. Grab some fake spider webs and plastic fake spiders, candy corn, glow sticks, pens, pencils, and more. You really cannot go wrong!

Spread the Love

If you are like me, you may have collected several Halloween baskets and/or a pumpkin bucket over the years. It is so much fun to spread this Halloween tradition with others. You do not need to be as extravagant as you are with your children, but creating a basket of goodies for your neighbors and friends is such a fun idea. Drop them by their front door on the front porch. Grab some extra candy from the dollar store, cozy socks, a bottle of wine, or a small gift, and add a printable gift tag. This is also a great teacher gift idea!

Happy Halloween friends! Shop all of my favorite Halloween finds here.
