Winter Bucket List with the Kiddos


Did you know that the first official day of Winter is December 21st?  Well, I guess my mental calendar switches over to the Winter season a bit earlier.  To me Winter comes as soon as Halloween is over.  So my Winter Bucket List with the Kiddos includes Thanksgiving, Christmas and all sorts of cold weather fun.  So here it is (in no particular order):

  1. Have a PJ Party and Watch Movies.
  2. Enjoy a warm cup of hot cocoa.
  3. Go Sledding.
  4. Drive thru the Neighborhood looking at lights.
  5. Build a Snow Fort.
  6. Build a Snowman.
  7. Play Snow Ball (Hit snowballs off a tee).
  8. Put food coloring and water in spray bottles and go “paint” the snow.
  9. Go see Disney on Ice at Wells Fargo Arena.
  10. Take my daughter to The Snow Queen Ballet.
  11. Attend the Festival of Trees and Lights.
  12. Take a drive thru Jolly Holiday Lights.
  13. Show off my ice skating skills at Brenton Skating Plaza.
  14. Stay warm and get my hop on at SkyZone.
  15. Try and make bubbles freeze.
  16. Watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (Classic version)
  17. Catch the Tree Lighting and Fireworks at Jordan Creek Mall.
  18. Go on a Horse Ride thru Valley Junction at Jingle in the Junction
  19. Bake some Christmas Cookies.
  20. Enjoy a Thanksgiving or Christmas Turkey from Woody’s Smoke Shack (So good! Forget making your own!)
  21. Show off my inner Tiger Woods and do some Indoor Glow Golf.
  22. Enjoy the benefits of using the bumpers while Bowling with my kiddos at Bass Pro Shop.
  23. Overcome my sensory overload and take the kids to Chuck-E Cheese.
  24. Teach my daughter my secret Pumpkin Pie Recipe.
  25. Head to Merle Hay Mall for a free family movie night to watch Frozen (Dec 8th).
  26. Make a homemade Advent Calendar.
  27. Teach my kids the proper way to dunk grilled cheese sandwiches into tomato soup.
  28. Make a video tape of the family singing Christmas carols and send out to our family & friends.
  29. Read Christmas stories in front of the fire.
  30. Make snow angels.
  31. Check out the Dinosaurs at the Science Center of Iowa.
  32. Eat breakfast with Santa at Bravo.
  33. Enjoy some free games and photo with Santa at Bass Pro Shop.
