The West Des Moines Library is one of my kids favorite places to visit. Not only do they have a great selection of children’s books, DVDs and music CDs to choose from they also have some great free programs for young children. Here’s what they have to offer coming up in December:
Join Betsy and Oliver the sheep dog in our Story Room for loads of stories, flannelboards, movement rhymes, and music! Each week we will focus on a specific early literacy skill and provide tips and tricks for parents and caregivers to try at home. Our 9:30 “drop-in” program is open for kids of all ages and registration is required. The 10:30 and 1:30 programs are for ages 3-6 (including children not yet in preschool and any half-day kindergarteners!) and do require registration to help us prepare our crafts in those sessions. To sign up, call 515.222.3405, come in, or visit the ONLINE CALENDAR.
Wednesday, December 10th – 9:30am (Drop-In no registration required), 10:30am, 1:30pm
Wednesday, December 17th – 9:30am (Drop-In no registration required), 10:30am, 1:30pm
Picture books, action rhymes, flannelboards, puppets, and songs for the whole family! This program meets in the large Community Room at the front of the library so there is plenty of room for strollers, parents, and siblings. Each week there will be plenty of movement, rhyming, stories, and FUN! If you would like to register for Family Storytime, call 515.222.3405, come in, or visit the ONLINE CALENDAR.
