Salted Peanut Chews Recipe

These bars remind me exactly of my high school days at the baseball fields. I used to love buying Salted Nut Roll candy bars at the concession stand and sharing them with a friend under the hot summer sun. These bars taste exactly like Salted Nut Roll bars and are delicious! They have the perfect combination of salty and sweet and are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser at your next gathering. Without fail, someone always asks me for the recipe after I’ve taken them somewhere. I guarantee you will be delighted with these!


Salted Peanut Chews Recipe
  • Base:
  • 1 Yellow Cake mix
  • 1/3 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups miniature marshmallows
  • Topping:
  • 2/3 cup white corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 12 oz. bag peanut butter chips
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 2 cups salted peanuts (no skins)
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine all the base ingredients until crumbly. Press in bottom of ungreased 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake 12-18 minutes.
  2. Remove from oven, sprinkle on marshmallows and bake 2-3 minutes, until marshmallows start to puff. Remove from oven carefully.
  3. In a large saucepan, heat corn syrup, margarine/butter, vanilla and peanut butter chips until melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispie cereal and peanuts.
  5. Spread carefully over marshmallows. Cool at room temperature and store covered.
