Reiman Gardens: Spirits in the Gardens

Central Iowa has a lot of great Halloween events in the next few weeks including Spirits in the Gardens at Reiman Gardens in Ames. We visit Reiman Gardens a few times of year, but last year was our first time attending this spooky, family-friendly event.

The event is full of trick-or-treating, activities, storytelling and hundreds of carved lit pumpkins around the gardens.

Last year there were 500 carved lit pumpkins, but this year they will have 650!

Dress up in costume and bring your bags so you can stroll around the gardens, and grab some candy. Storytelling will be by Jerri Heid from the Ames Public Library and more.

There is no preregistration required and the event is free, you just need to pay regular admission which is $8 for adults; Children 17 years and under are free. If you are member, your admission is always free.

Do not miss this spooky event!

Saturday, October 21; 4 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, October 22; 4 to 9 p.m.

** If there is rain, activities will be moved indoors
