My family doesn’t eat out much, so when we do I always look for a restaurant that has lots of options for both my wife and I and the kiddos. One of my favorites that fits that description is Red Robin in West Des Moines.
Red Robin is a “Gourmet” Burger restaurant and does have a lot of great burgers to choose from on their menu. By nature I’m a pretty plain guy so I stick with the Bacon Cheeseburger. Along with your burger you get “bottomless” steak fries or you can substitute coleslaw, broccoli or side salad for no charge. Of note for those of you with special diet concerns, you can get your burger wrapped in lettuce or substitute a gluten free bun instead of the traditional bun. Or if you don’t like meat (are you really from Iowa?) you can also substitute a Boca Vegan or Garden burger instead of the traditional burger. Like I said earlier, lots of options! If you aren’t a sandwich person they also have soups, salads, ribs, fish and more to choose from. Check out the full menu here.
For the kiddos, Red Robin also has an impressive assortment of 9 meals to choose from. My daughter enjoys the Grilled Chick-On-A-Stick (Get Kids to Eat Anything on a Stick) and the Rad Robin Burger. Add to those the Freckled Fruit salad or steamed broccoli and you have a somewhat healthy meal (for eating out).
So the next time you are looking for someplace to take the family that will give you lots of options to please everyone, check out Red Robin in West Des Moines.
TIP: Sign up for the Red Robin Royalty Card and get a free burger on your birthday month.
