Holiday Hullabaloo in Des Moines, Iowa
Are you looking to ring in the holiday season? Head to the former Woodsmith Shop at 10320 Hickman Road for the Holiday Hullabaloo. When Tracy White of Des Moines, Iowa started her events company 35 years ago, she never dreamed of creating an Iowa legacy event the likes of Holiday Hullabaloo.
Today, as president at InnovativEvents, Inc., White and her merry band of elves are gearing up for their second annual event in Clive. This year’s festivities will open on November 24 and run through December 31, 2023.
“We’re touting Holiday Hullabaloo in 2023 as the place to be in the Des Moines area,” she said. “It’s where the magic of the holiday season literally comes to life.”
According to White, Holiday Hullabaloo will be even bigger and better in 2023. This year’s event will feature $500,000 in holiday decor and activities housed in 50,000 square feet of event space.
“Holiday Hullabaloo is an indoor, immersive, family-friendly holiday experience that will surprise and delight guests of all ages,” said White. “We’re currently on a mission to WOW our visitors and create family memories sure to last a lifetime.”

White and her team have a host of new events and activities on tap for 2023:

- Candle-making Crafts
- Building Toys in Santa’s Workshop
- Decorating Cookies
- Giant Snow Globe
“We‘ve also lined up some stellar entertainment,” added White, “including the magic of Jonathan May along with local singers, dancers, and even a ventriloquist.”
In addition to regular event hours, Holiday Hullabaloo will host a Noon Year’s Eve event and balloon drop for kids and the Silver Bell NYE Soirée for adults.
“Holiday Hullabaloo is also available for private parties, special events, and corporate engagements,” White concluded, “and we still have sponsorship opportunities available, too.”
Holiday Hullabaloo was created by InnovativEvents in 2022 as an annual fundraising opportunity in support of Dorothy’s House. Proceeds from the event will once again support day-to-day operations at Dorothy’s House with a portion of ticket sales from opening weekend to benefit MercyOne Children’s Hospital.
Hours and Cost
Hours vary throughout the season, but they are open Friday – Sunday and on various additional dates throughout the season.
November 24 – December 23

- Sundays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
December 24
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
December 26 – December 30
- Tuesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
December 31 – Noon Years Eve Balloon Drop

General admission varies from $15 to $25 per person. Children 3 years and younger are free. Purchase tickets here.
