This past weekend I decided to please my own sweet tooth and earn some points for “Father of the Year” by heading to the newest cupcake bakery in town Scratch Cupcakery. Here’s what happened.
The kids and I arrived at 10am right at opening time. To my surprise there was already a line of people formed outside of the store waiting to get in. Wow, this must be some good stuff for all these people to be waiting! The inside of the shop is average size with a limited number of seating for customers and the line had formed around the outside of the room. I have to give the staff credit because the wait wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. But, while your waiting the scenery sure is nice. You get to gaze at the glass case full of all the different delicious cupcake options. The hardest part is choosing which flavor to try. Each day you will find a different lineup of cupcakes to choose from. Well I found one with bacon on it and I was sold and the kids went with the Prince and the Princess cupcake for their choices. For my wife, who was stuck at work, I went with the Peanut Butter Cup. Since the store was so busy we I opted to get the cupcakes to go. Each Cupcake cost $2.00, so for my family of four it ended up costing $8.00. Not a price tag I would pay everyday, but for a special occasion I can live with it.
So the next time you are looking to take the kids out for a treat, need some dessert for date night or just looking to satisfy that sweet tooth, head just west of Jordan Creek Town Center to Scratch Cupcakery.
