With all the rain, finding indoor activities for the kids lately has been a priority around my house. One of our old standbys that the kids always love to do is playing with vinegar and baking soda. There are lots of different methods of play, but this is the one I find easiest to setup and doesn’t make too much of a mess. All you need is a muffin pan, baking soda, vinegar and some food coloring. Then just follow these easy steps and the kids will be entertained and provide you with a chance for a science lesson.

A couple of tid bits about playing with vinegar and baking soda:
1. If you get to the end and want to see some mega fizzing, dump in a cup of vinegar all at once into the middle of the muffin pan.
2. If doing this activity outside, when finished don’t dump the left over mixture into your grass. This will leave you with a nice little dead spot of grass the next day!
