Ankeny Fire Department

Help the Ankeny Fire Department celebrate National Fire Prevention Week! Don’t miss this free event for all ages! Join the Ankeny Fire Department at Fire Station No. 1 for a fun-filled night.

• Meet Ankeny Firefighters
• Tour the Fire Department
• Spray a Fire Hose
• Try on firefighters’ protective gear
• Escape from a smoke-filled bedroom
• Practice extinguishing various types of cooking fires
• Practice Stop, Drop and Roll
• Learn firefighting knots and hoist “tools”
• Explore the fire department’s history in the fire museum
• Other fire safety and educational activities

Pancake Breakfast and Open House – Fire Department Fundraiser

Saturday, October 12; 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 17, 1401 Railroad Avenue, West Des Moines

Join the West Des Moines Fire Department for our Annual Open House and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, October 12, from 7 to 11 a.m., at Fire Station 17. Take a tour of the fire station, see the fire trucks, try the kid’s firefighter challenge, visit the Fire Safety House, see the Mercy One helicopter and more!

The pancake breakfast is a fundraiser for the Fire Department. Money raised from this event will be used for training, equipment, and fire prevention materials. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children, and free for children 3 years of age or younger.
