Join us for an evening of BBQ, Bocce Ball and Bags on our patio in honor of Dad! Stop by for a drink and be sure to stay for a bite. Delicious food and drink specials will be available in our bar and bistro area as well!

Bring your kids to a morning spent crafting something special just in time for Fathers Day.

Father’s Day Handprint Art

Five Monkeys Inc.

Those little hands don’t stay small forever, make something for the Dad in your lives. Handprint paintings on canvas panel – just bring the kids in a play shirt. Handprint keychain. Each project is $10

Father’s Day at Reiman Gardens

Sunday, June 17

9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

In honor of Father’s Day all dads can visit Reiman Gardens for free. Spend the day wandering around the gardens with your dad.

Father’s Day at Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden

Sunday, June 17

10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Enjoy walking around the gardens at the Des Moines Botanical Garden. All father’s receive free admission.

Swim for Free with Des Moines Parks & Recreation 

Sunday, June 17

1 to 5 p.m.

Father’s receive free admission to any Des Moines pool or aquatic center with the full-price admission for their child/children.

Historic Baseball Game at Living History Farms

Sunday, June 17

1:30 p.m.

Take your dad out for a an 1870’s-rules baseball game. There is not overhand pitching, the hitter can request the height of his pitch and more. All games are free with paid admission to Living History Farms. Spend the day exploring the farms and catch the game.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night 

Monday, June 18

4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Chick-fil-A University Avenue

Join us for our first Daddy Daughter Date Night on Monday, June 18th. You will enjoy delicious food, live music, a photo booth, and special gifts from us to you. Sign up at www.eventbrite.com. We cannot wait to see you there!

Fathers & Families Cookout 

Saturday, June 23

3 to 6 p.m.

John R. Grubb YMCA

A one-day event, the weekend after Father’s Day, Men will gather to share their favorite dish with family, friends and community. Father’s, uncles, and brothers will cook, bake, and/or grill their signature dish to share with event attendees in a sample serving. Family activities will include music, games, story-telling, and face-painting and bounce houses, to create a festive atmosphere for the entire family.

Fathers and Dads play a critical role in creating and maintaining a stable family that is the cornerstone of healthy communities. When Fathers and Dads are engaged in building the foundation of their family; children are less likely to engage in risky behavior, children become better learners, schools become primed for great teaching and learning and our communities become healthy and vibrant.
