Exploring Art at The Des Moines Art Center With the Kiddos



Looking for a fun free indoor activity with the kiddos?  Check out the Des Moines Art Center. Located at 4700 Grand Ave in Des Moines, the Des Moines Art Center gives you a chance to teach your little ones about and how to experience it.

A few tips for your visit:

• Follow your child’s lead; young children are drawn to artworks that feature people, animals, bright colors and shapes, as well as natural elements.
• Remind your child that artwork cannot be touched; please help up preserve the art for future generations.
• Limit your visit; an hour, or maybe even half an hour, may be enough time. Remember you can  always come back – admission to the Art Center is free for everyone!


Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 11 am — 4 pm
Thursday: 11 am — 9 pm
Saturday: 10 am — 4 pm
Sunday: Noon — 4 pm
Closed Monday
