Easy Homemade Puffy Paint

This is a fun easy activity that your toddler or preschooler will love.

What you need:

  1. 1 cup salt
  2. 1 cup flour
  3. 1/2-1 cup water
  4. Squeeze Bottles (Can be purchased at Michaels – $2.50 for two)
  5. Food Dye

Mix the salt, flour and water until you have your desired consistency. If it gets too watery, the paper gets too wet and dries flat. If it is too thick it won’t fit through the opening of the squeeze bottles.  Mix it well then separate it according to the number of colors you plan to make. Add the food dye to create your different colors.  Now,  spoon or pour the colored paint into squeeze bottles.  Time for the fun.  Get some paper and let the kids go at it.

TIP:  You might want to do this outside.  It can get messy.  Also you can use Kool-Aid packets to color your mixture and this will add a scent too.
