2020 Family Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Friday, April 3

8:15 to 9:30 p.m. 

Pickard Recreation Area, Indianola

When the sun goes down, the fun begins! Participants need to dress for the weather and bring their own flashlight and a sack or basket for eggs. Gather as many eggs as you can find, then open them up to find out whether they hold candy or prizes from our amazing sponsors. Hunt will begin promptly at 8:15 pm.

The fee is $7.50/child. Only participating children need to register. For kids ages 4-13 plus family.

Special Egg Event

Valley Stadium

The Special Egg Event is a free Easter egg hunt for children with special needs and their families. Enjoy food, carnival games, activity areas, and egg hunts that are designed for your child.

Eggstravaganza! An Egg Hunt for Dogs

11 a.m. to Noon

Animal Rescue League 

Let your dog enjoy the thrill of the hunt … for treats! Hidden throughout the ARL’s dog park will be Easter eggs filled with dog treats. When your dog touches the plastic eggs with their nose, into your basket it goes. Once all of the eggs are found, dogs can be let off leash to play with their new dog friends in the park! Registration is just $5 per dog. You’ll also have the option to get you and your dog’s photo taken for $10, and we’ll email you a copy of the digital file.

Adel Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt

Howell’s Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch

Howells Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch invites everyone, young and old, to enjoy Easter on the Farm with us! Come join us for the first year of our “chaos free” style Easter Egg Hunt. 

Take pictures with the Easter Bunny, pet some friendly farm animals, take a spin in our bath tub train, and unlimited access to our Farm Playground!  There’s no better way to spend your Easter then with Howells Greenhouse and Pumpkin Patch.

Geocache Egg Hunt

McFarland Park 

Your family will love this new-age way of hunting eggs. Join Naturalist, Jess Lancial to learn how to use a GPS, then go search the woods to find the Conservation Bunny’s nests of hidden treasures. Collect prizes, and candy, and discover some of nature’s wonders along the way. Be sure to keep a watchful eye as you may come across a “golden egg”–worth a special prize! Space is limited, so be sure to register early to reserve your spot. Fee of $5 per collector, (any child 3-14 years of age) required with registration by 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 7.

Easter Egg Hunt

Hop on over and fill your basket full of candy at Waukee’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. Enjoy thousands of eggs and pieces of candy at this popular event. Be on the look-out for some special golden eggs! Rain or shine.

Kids (ages 10 and under) fill up your baskets with ALL the candy and eggs they see! Some eggs even have a few special prizes in them. You will want to make sure you arrive early, the hunt starts right at 10 a.m. Free.

Blank Park Zoo 

Eggspect” to have a great time at Eggstravaganza Saturday, April 11 at Blank Park Zoo!

While the animals are enjoying their egg-cellent enrichment throughout the day, peeps of all ages can meet and get their photo with the Easter Bunny, while exploring the entirety of the Zoo on a Zoo-Wide Egg Scavenger Hunt from 10:00 – 2:00 PM. Collect an egg at each stop, learn all about egg-laying species along the way, and exchange your eggs at the exit for your prize.

Bring your own bag or basket from home, or the Zoo will provide an egg carton for you to use on your hunt.

Living History Farms

Welcome Spring with a day of fun for the whole family! The 1875 town of Walnut Hill comes together to celebrate Easter with ongoing egg and toy hunts (divided by age), horse-drawn wagon rides, egg rolling, pancake flipping, a visit from the Easter bunny, and more. Living History Farms’ Family Easter is full of traditional holiday activities with a small-town twist. Enjoy free pop and popcorn for all and free breakfast wraps for the first 500 visitors.

Egg Dive

Urbandale Swimming Pool

Make sure you arrive early. Children will be divided into age groups to dive for colored eggs in the pool. Each egg will be turned in for a prize. Diving will begin with the youngest age group and continue until all age groups have participated. $6 admission.

Sunday, April 12th is our annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt & Live Music! The Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 3:30 pm. The hunt is for ADULTS ONLY and will have adult/wine inspired prizes. Admission fee is $5.00 per person or $15 per carload and includes admission to the Adult Easter Egg Hunt and to Sunday Tunes. The band will be playing from 2:00-5:00 pm.
