Des Moines Symphony Opening the Iowa State Fair!

You will not want to miss this special presentation from the Des Moines Symphony with Music Director and Conductor Joseph Giunta presenting “Symphony on a Stick”.

This special family-friendly, patriotic performance will kick-off the Iowa State Fair on Thursday, August 11th at 6:30 p.m. 

Hugh Panaro, who also performed during the 23rd  Yankee Doodle’s Pop, will return to sing some American classics. The Vintage Sound quartet will also perform a special tribute with Meredith Willson’s Iowa classic, The Music Man.

The Des Moines Symphony will also be performing “Symphony on a Stick” which was commissioned by the Des Moines Symphony on opening night of its 2015-2016 Season. It will also include accompanying cinematography on a giant screen suspended above the Orchestra at the very event which inspired its composition.
