Today kicks off week four! Last week was great. I did miss one workout on Saturday :/
Highlights for this week:
- I missed Saturday’s band workout.
- Dealing with illness in the house including myself, but making sure I am staying on track with fitness and nutrition.
- I am feeling “tighter”.
- Less cravings.
- More self-confidence!
Our family have all taken turns getting sick this past week. Usually, this is an easy out/excuse to get out of eating right and exercising. I was pretty proud of myself, that I stayed on track with my nutrition!
I didn’t take many food pictures this week and did not prep much. I did make this delicious and healthier version of Chicken Pot Pie. I was craving some comfort food and this did the trick. On Sunday evening I did have a biscuit with dinner, but the leftovers for lunch I had a slice of Udi’s toast.
The center picture is of one of my favorite breakfasts, French Toast Scramble. I came across it year’s ago from one of my favorite bloggers Carrots ‘n Cake. It does not look appetizing, but it allows me to have something “sweet” for breakfast. That is when I usually crave baked goods. Check out the recipe here!
I was all about quick & easy smoothies and snacks. I checked out Get Fit Grill and loved their Blueberry Waffle Protein Shake! I also enjoyed a lot of my favorite items from Navitas Naturals. The Power Snacks are delicious and super easy to pop-in your mouth for a quick snack!
I do not think there has been a day where I have not been sore. I take this as a good thing 🙂 This past week we did ISO sets with bands. These are brutal! But, they work your muscle groups so much. You do two sets normally, then your final third set is slow and you hold it. It’s kinda hard to explain, but it works!
My favorite party of this challenge is the kickboxing and after talking to others, this is usually everyone’s favorite. I cannot get over how much it kicks my butt every. single. time. I feel amazing afterwards though!
I was asked last week about if I have noticed one non-scale win? I loved this question because this challenge is much more then losing weight. It is about living a healthier lifestyle and reflecting that on my family. One thing I have also noticed is my self-confidence. Three weeks ago, I was nervous, but my team, instructors, and coaches have been very welcoming. It allows me to feel that, I have got this!
