Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

If you don’t know who Dr. Seuss is than you probably having been living under a rock or a sock.  The great thing about Dr. Seuss books for me is my parents read them to me when I was little and now I am following in those same footsteps reading the same books to my kids.  Just around the corner, Sunday, March 2nd to be exact,  is Dr. Seuss’s birthday.  This is a perfect chance to have a Dr. Seuss themed day with the kiddos.  Here are some great ideas for crafts you can do at home: Crafts and Activities to Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

There also a couple of places you can celebrate in the Des Moines area:

Southridge Mall will be hosting Books4Kids on March 1st, from 10am-1pm.  The event will feature story time and a chance to meet the Cat in the Hat.  Fore more info click here.

Barnes and Noble also has a special event for the occasion.  Read Across America With Dr. Seuss will feature story time and Dr. Seuss inspired activities on Monday March 3rd at 10am (Jordan Creek Location) and 7pm (University Ave Location).

If you don’t have any Dr. Seuss books around your house (hint, the library has a bunch), at least celebrate by reading your kids some extra books in honor of the beloved children’s author on March 2nd.
