One thing Central Iowa is not lacking in is school options. With plenty of quality public and private school choices, along with some really great Homeschool programs the question really becomes which one fits your family best. In finding the best fit you have to look at your child’s learning style, your money situation, where you live and your religious beliefs among other things.
Today I will focus on Private Education in Central Iowa. Growing up I had the opportunity to experience both private and public schools. I enjoyed 9 great years at Sacred Heart, 1 year at Dowling Catholic, 2 years at Norwalk High School and then finally graduated from Des Moines Christian. In my situation I must admit, I enjoyed my time at private school way more than at public school and that played a huge factor when my wife and I made the decision to send our kids to a private school. The decision wasn’t an easy one because there are a lot of private schools in Central Iowa (Love the one we decided on!). Here’s a look at the choices:
Ankeny Christian Academy – Christian Education for preschool – 12th grade.
Bergman Academy – Bergman Academy is a Pre-Kindergarten – 8th grade certified non-public secular school.
Christ the King Catholic School – Preschool through eighth grade educational facility that provides high-quality, affordable Catholic education in Des Moines.
Des Moines Christian – A leading preschool, K-12 school that’s equipping students with an excellent biblically-directed, Christ-centered education.
Grandview Christian School – Christian Education for Pre-Kindergarten – 12th grade.
Holy Family Catholic School – Pre-K – 8th grade.
Holy Trinity Catholic School – Preschool – 8th grade.
Mainsteet Montessori & Middle School – An independent, private school offering a multi-aged, experiential, hands on education to children age 3 through eighth grade.
Mount Olive Lutheran School – Christ-Centered Education for Preschool-8th grade.
Sacred Heart Catholic School – Preschool – 8th grade.
Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic School – Kindergarten – 8th grade.
Sayre Montessori School – Montessori Education for ages 3-12
