Fill Your Cup With Holiday Merriment at Jolly Holiday Lights

The magic of the season is upon us. For Iowans seeking a festive holiday experience, Jolly Holiday Lights at the Outlets of Des Moines is just the ticket. This year’s event, opening Nov. 17 and running through Jan. 7, 2024, is a new kind of immersive experience. The Outlets of Des Moines offer the perfect setting for getting in the holiday spirit with free light displays, ample places to shop and an opportunity to support one of our state’s favorite nonprofit organizations, Make-A-Wish^® Iowa.

For more than 25 years, Make-A-Wish Iowa’s Jolly Holiday Lights has been a favorite holiday tradition for many area families. While the event looks a bit different than in years past, there’s so much for all ages to do. This year, attendees can participate in special events throughout the holiday season like Breakfast with Santa, train rides, Sip & Shop Night and more.

Be a part of the magic

While there are many free opportunities at this year’s event, including music-to-lights displays, some special activities require a fee (but for a good cause). When you purchase an event ticket or coupon book for Jolly Holiday Lights, proceeds go directly toward granting life-changing wishes for Iowa children with critical illnesses. In 2023, Make-A-Wish Iowa was able to grant 198 wishes for kids in our communities thanks to the generous support of volunteers and donors, including those who attended last year’s Jolly Holiday Lights event. But there’s so much more work to do in 2024. We are a strong community, and that’s why we need to come together to support our youngest Iowans at events like Jolly Holiday Lights so that their wishes can come true — wishes that provide hope, strength and resiliency for critically ill children and their families.
