Listening to live, outdoor music is the perfect way to enjoy the Summer in central Iowa. There are several locations to take advantage of outdoor music, but our family’s favorite is the Summer Concert Series at Jasper Winery.
Ade & The Soul Brothers kicked-off the 2017 Summer Concert Series. They were a lot of fun and encouraged all the children and families to get out and dance.
Families can enjoy live music, drinks, food and fun. Jasper Winery wines and Madhouse Brewing Company beer are available for purchase as well as Coors Light and Bud Light. There is also soda and water available. The grill is always fired up with burgers, hot dogs, and brats available for purchase. Sometimes the Gusto Pizza food truck will make an appearance as well as Chocolaterie Stam selling gelato.
Jasper Winery encourages bringing your own food whether it be snacks or take-out from your favorite local restaurant. They do not allow bringing any outside alcohol beverages.
This is the perfect event to make sure your park bag is stocked with snacks, water bottles, yard toys, and blankets. Make sure you bring your lawn chairs as well. There are some tables and chairs set-up on the grounds if you forget yours.
Jasper Winery also offers several bags games available to play with. Another favorite are the hills, trees and green space available to run around and play. I made sure to pack our favorite blue ball. We spent a lot of time kicking it around the Jasper Winery grounds.
The Jasper Winery Concert Series is held every Thursday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. until August 3rd. All shows are outside, weather permitting, otherwise in the outdoor party tent. Take a look at the full line-up below.
