Fall Fun at Central Iowa’s Pumpkin Patches

Pumpkin-Patch1

Fall is one of my family’s favorite times of year.  One of the reasons for that is fun filled trips to local pumpkin patches.  Luckily we have some great ones to choose from here in Central Iowa.  Check out the list:

The Pumpkin Ranch - zip lines and Iowa’s Mega Corn Maze, a 9 acre mystery corn maze that’s appropriate for all ages. The kids will enjoy our playground, jump houses and tire tower.  And for the kid in all of us…tennis ball launchers that you shoot at targets in our pond. The Pumpkin Ranch will keep you filled up and energized with our specialty ciders and hot chocolate, baked goods, homemade popcorn and lunch items from local vendors.

Patch’s Pumpkins & Honey Farm – Pick out the perfect pumpkin, enjoy a corn maze, duck races, corn pit, petting zoo, straw maze, playground, pumpkin cannon, cow train, rack ride and bounce houses

Howell’s Pumpkin Patch – Antique tractors are making continuous rounds out to the Corn Maze and the Pumpkin Patch, so plan on the whole family climbing aboard the wagons for a country ride, a chance to explore the twisting and winding maze, It’s all about family, and the kids, Howell’s Dried Florals, Greenhouse, Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, in Cumming, Iowa, just south of Des Moines. Don’t forget your camera and to then pick out the perfect pumpkins for each member of the family. The wagon ride, including your visit to the Pumpkin Patch and the Corn Maze, is included in the per person admission (under 2 free), plus the cost of your pumpkins if you choose to purchase them.  Come see the friendly Barn Yard, where kids can see live farm animals including goats, sheep, pigs, and chickens. Over in the Kiddie Korral, they have a special farm playground with pedal tractors, wiggle cars, hay stacks to climb on, a straw bale maze, the corn box, a giant slide, and many other activities.

Williamson’s Pumpkin Paradise – Williamson’s Pumpkin Paradise is a family-owned farm and pumpkin patch in Ankeny that has been in the Williamson family for over 20 years. Amber Williamson created the Pumpkin Paradise in hopes of sharing the farm life experience and her love of Halloween with the local families. Open beginning September 28th. Take a ride on the barrel train, a trip through our new Corn Maze or hay maze, make your way through “The Box”, enjoy our petting zoo, and of course we will have plenty of pumpkins you can pick from or ones we’ve already picked!

Center Grove OrchardWe’re sure you’ll gather as many happy memories as apples. Enjoy daily hayrides, corn pool, corn maze and hay maze, farm animals, pedal tractors, weekend festivals with live entertainment, and so much more. Don’t forget our jumping pillow, rubber duck races, Three Little Pigs houses, and apple sling shot. We have the best (and only) Potty Barn anywhere in the Des Moines and Ames area! Of course, you can pick your own apples and find your perfect pumpkin.
