Have you heard about the Mini Maker Faire coming to Des Moines? Over the Summer, the Science Center of Iowa has been offering an awesome exhibit called the Makers Studio. The Makers Studio has been a host for children and adults to explore, design, build, test and improve projects.
Each week the Science Center hosted different themes such as different ways to build forts, using old clothes to create a new fashion, using someone else’s trash to create something amazing, and more!
To tie into the Makers Studio exhibit, the Mini Maker Faire brings innovators from all over to showcase what they have created! You may see a bicycle-mounted bottle opener, a robot throwing a ball, fashion designs, and so much more!
The Mini Maker Faire is part science fair, part county fair, and part food-truck festival! There is truly something for everyone. There will be local food trucks (I’m in!), live music, exhibitors from across Iowa (check out a list of exhibitors here!), and hands-on workshops for all ages.
So when is this crazy, fun event?!? LABOR DAY! The Mini Maker Faire will take place Monday, September 7th from 9 am – 5 pm.
